Frequently Asked Questions
1. How does the Plianx Self-Cleaning Cat Litter Box work? After your cat leaves the litter box, the Plianx automatically initiates a cleaning cycle following a short delay. The automatic sifting and separation system filters clumps from clean litter and transfers waste into the sealed compartment below, keeping the litter area consistently fresh without manual scooping between empties.
2. Is the Plianx Cat Litter Box safe for cats during the cleaning cycle? Yes, the Plianx features a built-in infrared safety sensor that continuously monitors the surrounding area. If your cat approaches within 20 centimetres during a cleaning cycle, the system pauses automatically until the area is clear. The multi-layer sensor protection ensures the mechanism never activates when your cat is nearby.
3. How does the app control work on the Plianx Cat Litter Box? The Plianx connects to a dedicated smartphone app that allows you to monitor your cat's visit frequency, track usage data and weight trends, start manual cleaning cycles, adjust the entry height setting, and receive maintenance alerts — all remotely from your smartphone whether you are at home or away.
4. How effective is the odour control on the Plianx Cat Litter Box? The Plianx features an independent waste bin with a precision silicone seal that contains odours within the compartment between empties. By isolating waste immediately after each cleaning cycle, it prevents smells from building up and escaping into the surrounding space, keeping the area fresh throughout the day.
5. How quiet is the Plianx Automatic Cat Litter Box? The Plianx operates at 35 decibels or below, making it quiet enough to place in a bedroom, living room, or open-plan space without the cleaning cycle disturbing sleep or unsettling your cat. This is significantly quieter than many automatic litter boxes at comparable capacity levels.
6. Can the Plianx Cat Litter Box track my cat's health? Yes, the built-in weight measurement system records your cat's weight during each visit and logs the data in the app over time. This provides a passive, ongoing record of weight trends that can serve as an early indicator of changes worth discussing with a veterinarian.
7. What type of litter is compatible with the Plianx Cat Litter Box? The Plianx is compatible with clumping clay litter and bentonite litter, which are among the most widely available cat litter types. It is not recommended for use with non-clumping, crystal, or silica gel litters as these do not interact correctly with the automatic sifting system.
8. How easy is the Plianx Cat Litter Box to clean and maintain? The Plianx features a fully detachable structure that separates into individual components for independent rinsing and cleaning. The included washable protection mat is leak-proof, scratch-resistant, and designed to release residue cleanly without staining. Regular maintenance requires emptying the sealed waste bin and a periodic rinse of the components — straightforward steps that take only a few minutes.
